Career Services

Customized Service Delivery

Infinity holds the belief that career development is a self-directed component of a person’s livelihood; however during the crossroads of life, a person can benefit by having a Career Coach to assist them in embracing their career development, potential and lifework.

I model my philosophy of career development as a culmination of my own personal experiences and that of the individuals whom I have provided career counselling to – those from 15 years of age to individuals with 75 years of life experience. Ultimately, individuals embrace their career development from what is important to them – what they value. My approach inspires the alignment of values and strengths.

Career counselling services are customized based on individuals’ needs and goals. The process of career development includes a series of milestones, which commences with self-discovery, reflection and research while addressing job loss grief (if applicable), ambivalence toward making changes and personal resiliency. A person’s primary goal – development, rewirement or retirement renewal is also discussed. Subsequently, the goal is to “go deep,” to identify and cultivate true livelihood and lifework, which involves customized assessments to determine a person’s values, motivations, interests, beliefs, strengths, competencies, lifestyle preferences and financial requirements. A variety of assessments are utilized, some which are unique to Infinity, as well as True Colours, Retirement Options and the work of Denise Bissonnette in the Cultivating True Livelihood Curriculum. The result of this is an inventory that is utilized to establish suitable occupations and careers, some which may require educational upgrading or training.

In addition to career counselling, individuals are provided with coaching to explore alternate career options by conducting career research, participating in career conversations, informational interviews, job shadows and volunteer work experiences to determine how their talent potential translates into market needs. This involves locating career information including educational, occupational and psychosocial information related to an occupation including, but not limited to data on employment, wages, availability and job openings, working conditions; and, career paths. The culmination of these services is to evaluate the most suitable career options and make confident and informed career development decisions and set realistic short or long term goals.

Career services and assessments are customized based on goals – whether career development; rewirement; or, retirement renewal, and also can be modified based on other needs and budget constraints. They can be delivered through both in-person and tele-coaching formats.

Retirement Renewal Coaching

Who benefits most from this service? Whether an individual has …

5

Entered into a “fifteen / ten / five / two / one year; six / one month goal” towards retirement, and began considering the (non-financial) aspects of retirement renewal planning;

5

Realized that retirement is essential for health and wellness, with a need for immediacy in work reorientation;

5

Felt motivation to determine retirement renewal goals and plans, in order to effectively invest time, finances and energy resources to reach those goals (even if you are as young as 30!)

Retirement renewal coaching is beneficial for individuals who have planned for the financial side of retirement, but have not considered the lifestyle changes that accompany. This process involves preparing for the non-financial aspects of retirement renewal by distinguishing focus factors (i.e. work reorientation; leisure; health perception; life satisfaction), which require attention in order to transition successfully into future retirement. Coaching provides assistance in managing change; planning work reorientation and future lifestyle while maintaining health and wellbeing. Following completion of either a Retirement Success Profile (RSP) assessment or Life Options Profile (LOP), the results will be interpreted, with subsequent coaching to determine retirement renewal plans that meet an individual’s goals and lifestyle. To begin, you can complete a pre-assessment: “Are You Ready to Retire?”
